曲江池遗址公园是西北首个集历史文化保护、生态园林、山水景观、休闲旅游为一体的大型山水园林式遗址公园,总占地面积1500亩,恢复汉唐曲江池水系700亩,再现了曲江地区“青林重复,绿水弥漫”的山水人文格局.总投资20亿元,一年时间完成.
　　曲江池遗址公园由建筑设计大师张锦秋院士担纲设计,以“写意”手法再现曲江池的自然风光,通过三大板块和两大区位的遥相呼应,营造“青林重复,绿水弥漫”的独特景观体系.唐城墙遗址公园是集“诗歌哲学、美学体验、生态园林”于一体的开放式遗址公园,将成为具有曲江特色的标志性城市公园.
　　曲江新区通过一系列城市规划和建设项目的实践,形成了人文特色浓郁,开阖有序,充满活力的城市意象,实现了从城市景观项目（大雁塔北广场、民俗大观园、戏曲大观园）,到文化旅游景区（大唐芙蓉园遗址公园）,再到城市游憩区（曲江池、唐城墙、唐大慈恩寺三大遗址公园）的跨越.
