An Incident in the High-School Reunion
My mother is already forty-six years old and has graduated from high school twenty-eight years ago. And she has not seen most of her high-school classmates for twenty-eight years.
Last January thirteenth of the traditional Chinese calendar, she went to attend her first high-school reunion. They first meet at Ziwei Hotel and would had lunch there.
My mother reached there a little earlier, so she sat in the room of the hotel which they booked and talked with her friends who were already there. Their monitor telephoned while they were talking. He was already in the bus stop near the hotel, however, he did not know the way to the hotel very clear but he can ask someone. My mother wants to meet him at the bus stop and guide him to the hotel.
“Could you recognize him?” one person asked.
“Yes, I can,” my mother answered confirmedly.
“Are you sure?” another one answered.
“Yes, yes, I’m sure. You all should trust me.”
Then she left to the bus stop. She looked around very carefully while walking to the stop to avoid missing their monitor. However, things are always out our expectation. Although she was very careful, she still missed him. She did see the monitor, so she decided to call one person who was in the hotel to make sure if he was there. However, she found that her mobile phone was forgotten in the room. She wondered near the stop for a while and still do not see the monitor, and then she went back to the hotel.
“I have not seen him.” My mother pushed the door and said.
“Hello, I am already here,” the monitor answered.
My mother and the monitor looked at each other and thought for a while.
“Oh, my god. Unexpectedly I didn't recognize you.” They cried at the same time.
Then everyone became laughing when my mother was shocked and kept standing still for a while. Then my mother laughed, too.

I earnestly hope to lead a healthy and prosperous life in the future. Judging from my aptitude inclination and personality streaks, my ideal life will be that of a scientist, researching, lecturing, and writing books. As I am from a farming family, I particularly enjoy being close to earth. If I can afford to live a pastoral life in the countryside, I will feel most blessed. As far as social life is concerned, simplicity is what I intend to pursue, so I really don't need too many friends. All these will be mere talk if I am idle now. To attain my goal, I must make a point of training my body and mind. This is a highly competitive society in which everyone is eager to come out on top. That is not only a competition of physical strength and mental power, but a marathon of patience, faith, and perseverance. Life is not all roses, but with what I am being equipped with by the top teachers in this elite school, I surely deserve a promising prospect.
